There's a heatwave coming

Apparently it we are going to have a heatwave this week?!....Hmm will wait and see about that one!
We have been doing lots of autumnal chores last week, raking leaves, dead heading flowers, picking blackberries and making more chutney. We have had a couple of dinners sampling our new lamb of the season and the verdict is..... fantastic very tasty and tender. We have so far taken half of the lambs to the abattoir and take a further 6 this week leaving only a couple that were born the latest and are still fattening up. Nige is going back to Poole in Dorset in a couple of weeks time and will be taking back lots of fresh lamb that has been ordered by our friends.
We are still nice and busy with the cottages and have a couple of children staying that have helped with the animal feeding.
